The Malatesta Room

The Malatesta Hall was named by Marina Colonna and her husband Paolo Amalfitano in 1992 when they finally took possession of the Castle to be used as headquarters of the Sigismondo Malatesta cultural association.

This deeply austere and authoritative large room, furnished with ‘600 dark walnut furniture, perfectly interprets the character of the great leader Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta from whom it takes its name. The furniture once belonged to the ancient sacristy of the Church of San Romualdo, part of the sixteenth-century Camaldolese Abbey that over time, through continuous expansions, became one of the largest and most majestic monuments of the Camaldolese Order.
